WYKO Tire Technology celebrated the company’s 45th Anniversary of U.S. operations on June 30th.  This milestone was commemorated with current and former employees, their families, and representatives from state and local economic development agencies.

“I am especially proud of the excellent reputation that WYKO has built and maintained for so many years regarding the innovation and quality of our products and the service we provide to stand behind those products,” said Mike Evans, General Manager.  “Our team has fought tirelessly through many challenges down through the years and they always go the extra mile to get the job done.”

WYKO originated in Dudley, England, in 1962, then established their US location in Greenback, Tennessee in 1977.  The year 2022 therefore is significant for both the 60th and 45th anniversaries respectively.

“WYKO has proudly contributed to East Tennessee’s strengthening manufacturing base for many years,” said Kenny McCleery, Vice General Manager.  “Our unique capabilities set us apart in terms of what we offer our customers and manufacturing partners.  By continually evolving and investing in new technologies, WYKO provides more value and comprehensive solutions sought by today’s industry.”

The company has expanded their facility multiple times and been a steady source for hundreds of jobs for professionals and those in skilled trades over the years.

“Having a long-standing company like WYKO being a stalwart in our community is a testament to its proactive stance in growing, recruiting and retaining its current and future workforce,” said Jessica Belitz, Director of Workforce Development, Blount Partnership.  “It’s a community-minded company that continues to play an active role in the local economy and we are all better for everything it has done for nearly a half century. We wish WYKO continued success in the years to come.”

WYKO is a strong supporter for local Engineering, STEM, and skilled trades education and training through its partnerships with various state and local agencies such as Tennessee STEM Innovation Network (TSIN.org), Blount Partnership, and Loudon County Economic Development Agency (LCEDA).
